Product Description
These three independent, creative writing activities are perfect for both word work and morning work. I am teaching an enrichment split class of 1st and 2nd graders this year, so I'm actually using them as "I'm through, what can I do?" activities. I have an area in my room with these writing prompts and many more that students can choose from to do a little creative writing when they finish early.

I had no trouble finding letter templates, postcard templates, book report worksheets, etc. online. Those are some of the other options my students have. I read a few blogs with other suggestions, but couldn't find any downloadable items. So, I went ahead and made the 3 that I thought my students would most enjoy!

Here, you will find worksheets for students to write the steps to something, write a recipe, and create a word ladder. All of these activities are pretty self explanatory, but I take time to model one of each with my students before setting them loose to try on their own! We do it as an interactive group activity, group writing. Enjoy!
