I have tried several ways to help my students learn their sight words and grade level vocabulary. I've found that instead of giving them weekly spelling lists, working on one word a day is way more effective!
This is one tool we use when we do a word focus.
It allows students to look at vowels, consonants, syllables, related words, and asks students to us the word in a sentence.
I laminated this sheet and included it in students morning work binder.
