Word of the Day-January is a content vocabulary booklet that provides your students a place to document information they learn during the month of January.
This set includes 52 topic words. The pages are formatted for you to use only the words you need.
Three different covers and four different booklet page options are included for differentiation.
Students are expected to write a few sentences using the word in context. It’s a great way to authentically assess understanding of each word. A simple, “I like the snow.” is not accepted.
Print booklets and distribute to students.
Display the Word of the Day and discuss with students.
Students may complete booklet pages as January related words are introduced or as an assessment of understanding. (See Background on page 3.)
*Student directions and Common Core standards are included.
The following words are included:
New Year’s Day
Martin Luther King, Jr.
