Product Description
I use this as morning work every day. I have a word of the week posted in my room. On Monday the students write the word, the definition of the word, and an illustration. On Tuesday, the students rewrite the word, the part of speech of the word, how many syllables it has, how many consonant letters it has, and how many vowels it has. On Wednesday, they rewrite the word, give rhyming words, an antonym and a synonym of the word. On Thursday, they rewrite the word, and then they look it up in the dictionary...tell what page they found it on as well as what guide words were on that page. And last, but not least, on Friday they rewrite the word and then put it in a meaningful sentence.

Throughout the week I encourage the students to use the word as well....each time they do, they receive a ticket which they put in a jar. At the end of the week, I draw five tickets and give a small treat to those students.
