PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Your students are adept in using social media for pleasure. Here’s a way to harness those skills for learning!

"WordPress for Student Writing Projects" shows teachers how to use WordPress to create a classroom blog that can be used for a variety of English language arts purposes. Three separate lesson units give step-by-step instructions on creating blogs that help students strengthen their essay writing skills, including the creation of thesis statements, evaluating research sources, and collaborating with fellow students to edit their work. Each lesson is specifically aligned to ELA Common Core standards, and rubrics are included to help teachers assess the quality of their students’ work.

Authors Bean and Waszak demystify the process of using blogs and social media in the classroom with detailed instructions for teachers and clear lesson plans. Each lesson has been tested with teachers to ensure that it works for students in grades 6 through 12.
