Your students will see themselves as readers by using these wordless books. I created this product out of a need for wordless books in my Kindergartners' book boxes for independent reading at the beginning of the year. We model and practice how good readers read the pictures of a book before reading the words, which helps build their self-confidence that they can read!
There are four books included and vary in length so children can progress as they build their stamina. Ideal for Kindergarten, these books are also suitable in first and second grade either for struggling readers or to have students write their own story so they practice matching the words to the illustrations Tara has created.
These books are themes that children can easily relate to and will be able to naturally make text-to-self connections while reading.
Color and black and white versions are included. 2 books per page, so just print, copy, cut, and staple! The books are:
Ready for School (My favorite!)
A New Friend
Taking Care of a Pet
Losing a Tooth
I uploaded “A New Friend” as a freebie for you to check out.
I hope you enjoy this product. All of these illustrations were created for the purpose of these stories. Give Tara a shout out in the feedback section :).
