Words Their Way Uno Game Within Word Pattern Spellers- Sort 16- short e and long e
Recommended for 3-7 Players
1. Shuffle the deck and deal 5-7 cards per player.
2. Place the remainder of the deck face down on the table and flip the first card. (If the first card is a Wild card, flip a different card to start.)
3. The first player must put down a card in their hand with the same word pattern as the card on the table. For example, if the card says “seem,” it is a CVVC -ee pattern, so the player must put down another word that has this same pattern (such as “keep.”) If they do not have a word in their hand that is the same pattern, then he/she must draw a card and it becomes the next player’s turn.
*WILD- If someone has a “Wild” card, they can choose the pattern they want the game to proceed with.
*DRAW TWO- If someone puts down a “Draw Two” card, the next player must draw two cards from the deck and he/she does not get to play any cards that round.
*SKIP- If someone puts down a “Skip!” card, the next player’s turn is skipped.
When a player has one card left in their hand, they must call “Uno!” If he/she forgets to call “Uno!” and another player notices, then the player who forgot to call “Uno!” must pick up 2 additional cards. Whoever puts down all of their cards first wins the game!
