Are you knee deep in Words Their Way and all the cutting of the words and pictures are driving you CRAZY? Are you wishing there was an app or iPad activity your students could do the sorts? AND that it would give students feedback if the sort was correct or not? Then consider it DONE! Four sort groups are ready to go as puzzles to play on an iPad- Letter Names, Syllables & Affixes, Within Word and Derivational Relations. (Emergent coming soon!) All you need for these to work is:
-A management system to push the Stick Around puzzles out to the student's ipad. Sharing these files has been tested using Google Docs, Schoology, Dropbox and Edmodo. Directions are included for each of these.
So, before you jump in and purchase an entire set of word sorts, this is a free sort that lets you see what you are getting plus lets you test pushing the file out to a student. This zip file includes LN 23 sort plus directions. Any sorts in "Letter Names" that use pictures, have been replaced with text and audio. This example represents what all the sorts look like. They all have fun images.
So many of the activities out there supporting WTW are teacher led or worksheets. Isn't it time for WTW to meet the ipad?!
