I’ve always loved the classic simplicity of vintage cards used in 1950’s classrooms, the clean design reflects in modern Montessori methods.
Inspired by these, I have created my Work & Play cards! Classic, clean, white background, clear, modern primer type font that is spaced well,
and is super easy to read for little learners. I love these cards for SO many different uses in the classroom and for homeschooling, or play! I think of Work & Play cards as an integral part of a classroom tool-kit to use with any theme, content area, center, play, or instructional support! Some things never go out of style and the simple learning these cards provoke makes them a natural part of learning at school or home!
Perfect for using with:
• Literacy Centers
• Math Centers
• Invitations to play
• Dramatic Play (any dramatic play, but playing school with these is perfect!)
• Sensory Play
• Self regulated play
• Classroom, homeschool, or play space décor
Work & Play cards are the perfect compliment and companion to practically any classroom activity! They add a dimension of literacy and engagement, you’ll be amazed and surprised at the creativity, depth of learning and versatility. Letting them decide how to use the cards at each experience will provide opportunities for students to create meaning for themselves as they work and play.
Included in this set:
Analog time cards
Digital time cards
Written time cards
A word about prep. . . I print my cards on heavy card stock…and get this…. I DO NOT laminate! I have found over the years that most things hold up quite well for a long time without laminating. If something gets really worn I just re-print what I need.
My life got a lot easier when I stopped laminating everything! 4 x 6 photo boxes work GREAT as storage for these cards!
