This is a set of PowerPoint notes I created for my high school physical science classes. They are also appropriate for high school physics classes. When purchasing this file, you will receive a 21 slide PowerPoint document.
This note set includes: work, power, mechanical advantage, simple machines, compound machines, efficiency, potential energy, kinetic energy, and conservation of energy.
This set also includes 3 embedded videos: "ABCs of Machinery" from Bill Nye the Science Guy, "N-R-G" from Bill Nye the Science Guy, and a video about solving kinetic energy problems from NASA's Real World Math.
When I use these notes in class, I use them over the span of a week or two. I will only cover a section at a time. These are not meant to be taught in one class period, but as an entire unit.
These notes are tied to the following Physical Science Georgia Performance Standards:
• SPS8e. Calculate amounts of work and mechanical advantage using simple machines.
