Product Design: I have designed this product as a work task box for my students. This is a very simple task that works on both counting and discrimination. I have the instructions card available to the students, the pile of French fries, and the French fry cartons mixed in a pile. The students then package the appropriate number of French fries into the French fry cartons. There are multiple instruction cards to differentiate based on one-to-one correspondence ability and counting through the teens ability.
You will need: Before using this task box, you will need to collect McDonald’s and Wendy’s French fry containers. I simply went to my local restaurants, explained that I was a teacher of special needs
students and that I was trying to do a hands on counting activity. I requested 25 containers and BOTH restaurants gave them to me for free-even though I was more than willing to pay for them. The paper part of this product requires very little prep-cut, laminate, cut and GO!
