I created these writing forms to use in my Daily 5 work on writing round. I needed something for those hesitant writers, or when my kiddos were just stuck!
Making Lists: topics such as places I would like to go, my favorite books, jobs I would like to have, and others! I also included a blank topic so your kiddos cold make their own!
Letters &Postcards: Thank you letter and generic letter template. Front and back to postcard. The letters are formatted so your kiddos remember the date, greeting, and closing!
How To Organizer: Each step is laid out with a spot for a drawing and writing. One template includes ordinal words; first, second, third, etc.. The other template includes transitional words; first, next, then, also, and finally.
Creative Writing: Included are Roll a Story where your kiddos will roll a die to determine the character and setting included in their fictional masterpiece. Another form is a fill in the blank where kiddos create a fictional story by completing sentences already started! Writing paper with a spot for a drawing with text, and paper with text only is included.
All About: Kiddos can write their own all about books. Included is a template for creating these booklets. All you have to do is print, copy front to back, cut, and staple. Students can create an all about book on their friends, a place, or any topic!
Narratives: In this section I have included writing paper with topics such as my sad moment, my happy moment, my angry moment, my brave moment, and my scary moment. Each writing paper has the kind of moment at the top. Also in this section is today I feel _____. Where kiddos can write about their day. And finally there is a Meet the Author sheet where students can write about themselves as authors and set goals for their writing!
