WorkJobs is a type of remediation and acceleration that I use in my classroom. These are a list of short assignments that I give out on Friday and are due on the following Thursday. Students complete this assignments on their own as they are able. This is the coversheet that I use to help the students stay organized. Math usually consists of a computation worksheet and a multiplication table. ELA includes a daily oral language worksheet or activity (verbs, nouns, etc) as well as either a journal sheet or blog entry (I alternate these by weeks). Writing includes a typing lesson and cursive writing worksheet. Science is a comprehension packet on the subject at hand. Social Studies is two activities on the website Sheppard Software and a short summary page on the current country of the week. The students use the computer to find this information.
WorkJobs has been great in my classroom for remediation and acceleration. There are writing opportunities as well as technology components. They can also fill in time gaps if you have any. I grade each thing individually, but assign a Study Skills average grade to the total. This is because I am in a Special Ed classroom.
You can change the WorkJobs to fit your classroom as needed. This is simply an example of the coversheet I use as well as a description.
