A comprehensive and detailed ten week unit of work. In this unit, the students will explore people at work. They will identify their needs and wants and relate these to jobs in the community. The students will categorise different workers and describe their role in the community. The students will create a class graph of jobs their parents do, including unpaid jobs. They will create workers using milk cartons and will paint workers in their workplace. The students will interview some guest speakers about their jobs. They will write a simple job advertisement for a known worker. The students will visit a workplace and they will create finger puppets of the people that they saw in this workplace.
