This one-page worksheet focuses on numbers and their factors. In the first part, students are asked to find all of the factors of each of 10 different numbers, listing them from least to greatest. In the second part, students are challenged to complete partially written lists of factors. In the third part, students are asked to find the smallest number with a given number of factors. This exercise encourages students to observe patterns in factor lists which can be used to complete more challenging problems. Use this as an in-class exercise, a paired or group activity, or as a homework assignment.
