Prepare students for the workplace by teaching them basic skills to improve their employability. This product contains a short EDITABLE Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation with discussion questions for each of the basic skills of professionalism, time management, organization, and teamwork. After reviewing workplace success skills students will work with a partner to write a blog-style article in Google Docs (or another word processing program) as a "how-to" for students about to enter the workplace. Also included is a simple EDITABLE rubric in Microsoft Word to grade the blog article.
This lesson will engage your 21st century learners with the combination of instructional tools and discussion questions. I use this lesson in my Introduction to Business and Marketing to teach employability skills for the workplace. This is a versatile lesson that could be used across disciplines.
