Product Description
Teach your students about copyright, plagiarism and how to cite their sources.

What is included:

22 slide PowerPoint introduction
3 Review Worksheets
18 practice task cards

The PowerPoint introduction teaches students what copyright and plagiarism are and why it is important to give credit for using other’s work and ideas. It reviews the vocabulary terms citation, source, work cited and bibliography. There are two separate slides for the terms works cited and bibliography. This is because I have found that some schools teach one term and not the other. This way you can choose which slide to use. The last 5 slides are examples of how to create a citation for different kinds of sources (book, web site, print encyclopedia, online encyclopedia, magazine and newspaper). The text on these slides can be edited. Again, this is because not every school teaches the same format for citations. You can edit the text to whatever you need it to say. These 5 slides are the only slides that can be edited.

The review task cards can be used in a variety of ways. You can use them as a center activity, a partner activity, in small groups, as a scoot game, whole-class instruction, practice and review or for fast finishers. They can be used in a classroom or a library setting.

The worksheets can be used as a review or assessment to check the student's understanding of the concepts.
