This worksheet will serve as a practice to help students distinguish one element from another in a variety of chemical formulas. Also, this practice will also help students to count the atoms in a chemical formula AND whether it is a single molecule of a compound or multiple molecules.
NOTE: This is an ADVANCED practice, as compared to my regular Counting Atoms worksheets, in that all of the chemical formulas in this practice include polyatomic ions (chemical formulas involving parentheses).
Online Tutorials can be accessed from the worksheet through the QR Codes! Students must use a QR Code Scanning App for this opportunity.
All formulas are true formulas of real chemicals and were not just elements that were thrown together at random. From medicines to pesticides to food additives... have your students look them up if they're interested!
