Product Description
A 2-page worksheet that provides a basic summary of the main scientists who contributed to the development of the atomic model.

I typically use this as a summary reading exercise that is designed to be a supporting document to my PPT on the development of the modern atomic model. After showing the relevant PPT slides to my students and viewing a brief video clip, I hand out this reading exercise and review questions for them to work for the remainder of the lesson and for homework. Atoms, Elements and the Periodic Table

This product provides a 1-page reading exercise followed by a 1-page review exercise, as described below.


Contents:

Page 1 features a reading exercise on the following topics:

- What is a scientific model
- Democritus (first idea of the atom)
- John Dalton (first atomic theory)
- J.J. Thomson (discovery of the electron)
- Ernest Rutherford (discovery of the proton, nucleus)
- James Chadwick (discovery of the neutron)
- Neils Bohr (energy levels for electrons)
- Modern Theory (electron cloud)

Page 2 features a summary table that reviews all main concepts found in the reading that students have to complete.

Page 3 is a full answer key for the review questions.
