Product Description
A 2-page worksheet that reviews the skill of that is divided into two parts: (1) a concise fill-in-the-blanks section that reviews the nature of ionic and covalent bonds; and (2) a table with 9 questions involving drawing bonding diagrams, identifying whether the compound is ionic or covalent, and determining the chemical formula of the new compound for a collection of ionic and covalent compounds at easy, medium, and hard difficulty levels.

I use this worksheet after formally teaching my students about drawing ionic and covalent bonding diagrams through a PPT presentation and a worksheet on the same topic. Links to these products are found below:

PPT - Chemical BondsWorksheet - Drawing Ionic & Covalent Bond Diagrams (A)

Product Contents:

Pages 1-2 - Reading Guide and Practice Questions:

Part A - Fill in the Blanks Review:
- A 7-sentence, 12-blank review section that summarizes the nature of ionic and covalent bonding

Part B - Drawing Bonding Diagrams:
- A 9-question table that challenges students to draw ionic and covalent bonding diagrams for different compounds
- Each question requires students to state the elements involved, draw bonding diagrams, identify the type of bonding, and determine the chemical formula for the resulting compound

Pages 3-4 - Answer Key:

The final 2 pages provides a full, color-coded answer key for all practice questions.
