Product Description
A 4-page worksheet that introduces Newton’s second law (Fnet=ma) calculations through a set of 10 word problems.

Page 1 provides a summary of how to use the Fnet=ma equation including how to use a formula triangle to solve for the 3 different variables, the 4 elements each correct solution should include for full points, and how to solve these type word problems where significant figures are involved.

Pages 1-2 feature 10 leveled word problems, equally divided between solving for net force (Fnet), mass (m), and acceleration (a) variables. The final word problem involves using a second acceleration equation (a = (Vf – Vi) / T) and is clearly identified for students.

Pages 3-4 feature a full color-coded answer key that can be used by the teacher alone, displayed to students on a screen/interactive white board, or handed out to students who have completed the document.

NOTE: Significant Figures Included!

All problems are designed to involve correct significant figures and have corresponding answer keys that also include “sig figs”. Feel free to modify the document if this is not part of your curriculum!

Downloadable in 2 Formats:
