TOP 5 REASONS YOU SHOULD DOWNLOAD:
-Use for ANY subject or grade level!
-Get 2 grades a week!
-Easy to modify/personalize.
-Great resource for classroom observations and parents.
-Helps students learn self-management...they will know which station to do.
A TEACHER’S FAVORITE QUESTION…."What do I do next???
I teach 5th grade so I let them choose which stations they want to work on each day, as long as all the work is completed by Friday (which worked great for advanced students who like to work ahead AND it gives all students a sense of independence and self-management).
*For lower grades, you could just tell them which stations to do first, second, etc. or have the stations labeled by number for them to follow.
KEEPING TRACK OF THE WORKSTATION LOG
-Students turn in any worksheets/recording sheets along with the log on Fridays before the quiz.
-I have the students keep all station work and log in their class folder, which I collect at the end of the week.
-Workstation log can be returned to students to take home the following week for parents to sign.
-New template issued every week.
EASY WAY TO GET 2 GRADES A WEEK!!!
2 grades a week:
-1 formative grade (is work completed? log complete? signed?)
-1 summative grade (Quick Check quiz at teacher station in small group over the current lesson)
ADD A WRITING PROMPT STATION!
-You could also add a WRITING STATION to the template "Writing in Math" or “Writing in Science”. Get writing prompt ideas from your district’s lesson planning guide or just Google writing prompts for (subject you teach).
-I keep extra work in a bin for early finishers OR incomplete work/assignments from prior week.
*Print the log double sided to save paper*
THANK YOU! :)
This log has saved me so much time and has enabled me to actually get an accurate assessment of their learning. I hope you enjoy this log as much as I do.
LET’S MAKE IT A GREAT YEAR!
