This is a fantastic project that blends Hispanic culture, basic Spanish grammar and creativity in one. Soccer is a huge part of Hispanic culture. In our class I created our own version of the World Cup known as the Carella Cup. The students are assigned a Spanish speaking country and need to persuade the class that their country should host the Carella Cup.
This packet includes: project description, rubrics, vocabulary, team evaluation and reflection and a listening page so that students can take notes as they follow along. The last page includes advice for the instructor on how to make this project a success in your classroom.
After the students presented the next day in class we played a mini game of soccer with finger puppets. The students really enjoyed that! Enjoy!
