PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

In the first week of school world geography or world history students can enjoy a "sneak peek" into World Geography by participating in a VTS Chalk Talk! Using this VTS (Visible Thinking Strategies) strategy, students SILENTLY explain in writing and then discuss in small and whole groups what they see, think, and wonder about artistic images on posters (links to images provided for most units in World Geo including Roman Empire, Arabia, China, Africa, Japan, Medieval Europe, Mesoamerica, Renaissance, and Reformation), which include the Roman Colosseum, the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan, and samurai warriors in Japan.

Included in this PowerPoint are step-by-step instructions for students to go through each part of the activity, as well as links to images for teachers to print out and display on posters for students to write on.
