Activity #1: Why are there various government systems? Students will examine the different perspectives of importance as a leader of a nation and the various perspectives of others.
Activity #2: Students tally, graph, and answer discussion questions from activity #1. (Math Inclusion)
Activity #3: Round-Robin/Centers: Students rotate as a group to different centers to find information on various government systems, and to map out the geographical locations of the countries that these government systems preside. Each center comes with handouts, maps, and flag illustrations to hang above each center to use as student locators.
Activity #4: Students will create their own government systems with the help of a graphic organizer.
Activity #5: Quiz/Graphic Organizer
Activity #6: Analyzing a Political Cartoon over American inolvement with other countries.
Activity #7: Citizenship, Naturalization, Permanent Resident, Legal/Illegal Aliens: Includes 4 Power Point slides, 2 youtube video clips, 10 question citizenship exam, Certificate of Citizenship, and Permanent Residential Cards (green cards).
Activity #8: Citizenship Debate Handout and Instructions.
