For ease of use, this pack has been separated into two options by how you would like for your students to study habitats.
I have made the circles of the mobile a large enough size to accommodate both for the handwriting of young writers and for a greater depth of research for older students. Hopefully this ensure that this is a product that can be used across grade levels. We glued the top of the mobile page onto cardstock to make it solid and heavy enough to hold the mobile yarn and circles! Students illustrated the information they found about their habitat on the back of their circle or found pictures from the internet and taped them to the back.
Option 1: My 2nd grade students researched a Habitat of their choice, and therefore, I ran pages 3-11 and stapled them into a pack for each student. The pages of the mobile included in this case are: Locations, Climate, Animals, Animal Shelters, Plants and Trees, Fact #1, Fact #2, and Fact #3.
Option 2: If you would like for your students to write about more than one habitat, that option is also available to you. Pages 11-28 include researching the following habitats: Forest, Rainforest, Ocean, Desert, Arctic, Grasslands, Wetlands, and Swamp. Each Habitat has two circles for the mobile for students to research the following: Locations, Climate, Animals, Animal Shelters, and Plants and Trees. This option will make your mobile fairly large!
