This is NOT your typical DBQ-I wanted a way for my student to have acomprehensive understanding of the Age of Exploration so I created this DBQ + scavenger hunt because students will have to use both primary/secondary documents and visuals to "explore" this time period, but also have to use their book to find vital pieces of information and take down notes that will help their analysis. The goal is for students to make an argumentative essay on "Was the Age of Exploration more beneficial or more harmful to the world?" . Documents force them to consider the motives of these expeditions, the quality of the interaction between Europeans and the natives, effects of the interaction, demand for labor, and the economies that developed because of these expeditions.
DBQ also includes detailed descriptions on how to organize and write their final response.
