This exam is designed to track the progress of students throughout the first half of the World History and Geography, usually ninth grade. The goal is to have both the teachers and students track the progress of the students’ content knowledge and skills throughout the year. The multiple choice questions are from the NYS World History & Geography Regents but apply to any World History & Geography I class.
The test is divided into five parts. The first part is multiple choice. This portion of the test is segmented into sixteen topics covered in world history. Three questions are asked about each topic (#1-3 Study of history, #4-6 Early Civilizations, etc.) This is designed to help see which content topic students understand and which ones they struggle with. This could allow you to know what content areas to spend more time on. The second part of the test is geography. The third is DBQ questions. The fourth is an essay. The last part is a learning style quiz.
Progress monitoring is a great way for students to view their progress throughout the year and for teachers to get to know their classes’ strengths and weaknesses. Please feel free to ask me any questions you through TpT. This is very successful in my own classroom and I am happy to help make it successful in yours!
