These are similar to the biography recording sheets in my TPT store in that there are three different types or depths of questions.
I put this together as a short research activity for my kiddos. These notetaking sheets are not meant to solely become the basis for a long or involved project. It’s a start! Research becomes easier with regular practice and there’s not time to make everything a huge project. You CAN expand on these or you can use them as shorter activities.. On our campus we’re lucky enough to have access to several different options, including print resources, PebbleGo online database, and WorldBookOnline. Really any non-fiction source would work.
The first set (slides 3-16) asks for the most basic information.
The second set (slides 17-30) steps up the thinking a bit more and asks the students to compare/contrast one aspect of the landmark with something in their city or neighborhood.
The third set (slides 311-44) steps the thinking up even a little more asking for more information and something the student would change about the landmark.
