This semester final exam includes both recall and skills-based questions. It begins with questions about the characteristics of myths and epic literature, and poses recall questions about archetypes, including character archetypes (matching), situational archetypes (matching), and symbolic archetypes (matching). 31 questions for this section.
The next section is matching of Greek God's and Goddesses, and then a matching section on the Hero's Journey.
The last section is a skills based section where students read Edith Hamilton's version of Perseus and fill in the blanks to show the characteristics of an epic from the story itself. This is basically reading comprehension, but does require critical thinking. There is a character match and a chronological order section students must complete about Perseus.
The last section is a chart that students fill in that shows their understanding of the Characteristics of an Epic Hero in Perseus. It is a typical Epic Hero chart, but students must fill in the chart using the story of Perseus.
