Product Description
A glyph is a representation of data in picture form. In these worksheets, students are asked to color different parts of the picture depending on what they are hearing from the music.

These glyphs are designed with specific world music pieces in mind. They work well alone or as part of a unit. There are a variety of levels included, each with 3-4 things to listen for, including fast/slow, loud/soft, staccato/legato, various instruments, etc. Unfortunately, due to copyright laws, the music is not included.

There are ten countries represented in this set. Glyphs are included for the following pieces:
Australia: “Waltzing Matilda” by Banjo Paterson
England: “Fantasia on Greensleeves” by Ralph Vaughn Williams
France: “Les Marseillaise” by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle
India: “Ganesha” by Deepak Ram
Italy: “Carnival of Venice” by Herbert L. Clarke
Japan: “Sakura Sakura” (traditional)
Kenya: “Twaingia” (traditional) – can be found at
Mexico: “La Bamba” (traditional) arr. Ritchie Valens
Norway: “Morning Mood” by Edvard Grieg
United States: “Hoedown” by Aaron Copland
