The crossword puzzles asks students questions about events from last week's news: Hurricane Matthew, the world's deepest cave discovered in the Czech Republic, the number of elephants still alive in Africa, the 20% pay cut for Saudi members of parliament, and Prince William's refusal to greet Justin Trudeau.
It's a PDF so it's easy and quick to download and then print.
There are two bonus puzzles. One is the first in a series, on Alaska. The other bonus puzzle is about famous people and their contributions to the world.
The answers are included of course.
These puzzles are great for Homeroom, for the Time-Out room, for Social Studies homework for all ages… They work best for me and my students when done in small groups as a competition.
