Product Description
This resource, which emphasizes research, includes graphic organizers for eighteen world religions’ founders and leaders. Some of the subjects are still living. This group of founders and leaders is by no means meant to be complete for the topic. I have included a blank organizer in two formats for students to include other founders and leaders.

The eighteen subjects are: Abraham (Judaism); The Aga Khan (Islam); Buddha (Buddhism); The Dalai Lama (Buddhism); Haile Selassie (Rastafarianism); King Henry VIII of England (Christianity); Jesus Christ (Christianity); Joseph Smith (Christianity); Mahatma Gandhi (Hinduism); Maimonides (Judaism); Martin Luther (Christianity); Mohammed (Islam); Mother Teresa (Christianity); The Pope (Christianity); Ramakriskna (Hinduism); The Reverend Billy Graham (Christianity); William Booth (Christianity); and Zoroaster (Zoroastrianism).

Students could be assigned a particular religion and find out more about the people important to that faith. The organizers could be designed by one student and answered by another. There is space for students to include an illustration.

I have included the graphic organizer in two formats: three subjects per page and two subjects per page (this latter size provides more space for additional information provided by the student and could also be used in a wall display).

Most student research will likely be done online: included in the resource is a page of 36 suggested websites, two for each subject. I cannot guarantee that these sites will always be accessible and you and your students could easily find a few more that would be useful.

Answer keys are provided for the organizers, but they are only guidelines, and the information is basic. The organizers could be used within an interactive notebook, as a jigsaw activity or for other group work, so that students might not complete all five organizers but can share their results with classmates.
