These word problems are written about information provided in tables and within the problems themselves. There are problems involving calculating scores, number of hits, cost of tickets, etc. Grade 3 problems involve addition, subtraction, and multiplication. Grade 2 problems are confined to addition and subtraction only. The position of the unknowns vary according to how the problems are stated.
There are 25 problems in all. The Grade 2 problems are probably a little elementary; many of the Grade 3 problems can be done by able second graders, especially with some help and clarification. Space is provided to write all equations and do calculations. Most of the Grade 3 problems are 2- or multi-step with a combination of operations.
There is a section of perimeter problems written for Kauffmann Stadium and A T & T Park. These are mainly for Grade 3 students as they involve 3- and 4-digit addition and subtraction, but you could save them until later in the year for second graders.
These perimeter problems are also available in a collection of area and perimeter problems for Grades 3-5 which I have posted separately. If you want area/perimeter work specifically, and need some work for older students, you might want to look at that.
