Product Description
There are 95 slides each on serving as a warm up for the day. The quotes are famous historical figures that may or may not relate to the time period. Students write down these quotes daily. After a certain number of quotes, the teacher can decide to administer the project. It is wonderful as an end of the semester project. The guidelines are below.

Quotes Assignment- 50 points
Due:

Take five of the quotes you have written down in your folder at the beginning of each class and explain what these quotes mean. You must use at least TWO quotes from the World War II unit. The remaining THREE may be from any unit we have or are currently studying.
Each quote has a value after it on the power point slide. The total of your five quotes will HELP determine your grade. Your quotes must add up to a total of 35 points from the power point or higher to receive a starting grade of an “A.”
Example:
“Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself.” –Chinese Proverb
The Chinese are trying to explain education. Teachers cannot give us knowledge. Rather, they merely give us a path to knowledge (open the door). We must choose to go down that path. Only the individual themselves can decide to learn (enter by yourself). No matter how many doors are opened for us, we will never learn until we decide we want to learn. Students must learn that nothing will be handed to them. Instead, they must do the work for themselves. (7 sentences)
Each quote explanation should include the QUOTE as well as the point value and an explanation of at least 5-7 sentences. Remember there are FIVE entries. Each explanation should be in paragraph form using complete sentences. For each explanation you must:
- Give some historical background behind the quote (if applicable).
- Give some background information behind the author of the quote
- Explain what the quote means in your own words
- Apply the quote to your life or the period in history in which it was stated
- You may choose to draw a picture or political cartoon to accompany each quote for 1 point extra credit. (A possible 5 points extra credit)

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ASSIGNMENT WHICH CAN EASILY BOOST OR HURT YOUR MARKING PERIOD GRADE!!!
