This PowerPoint was created to engage my class in what it might have been like to leave their family and be evacuated from the city to the countryside during World War 2. The PowerPoint/lesson comes in two parts. The first gives children a prompt for leaving their family and journeying on a train while the second prompts the children to think about what it might have been like starting a brand new school. There are prompt slides which then encourage the class to continue writing their own version of what might have happened.
Great for use at the end of a unit of work on World War II to elicit learning and check that children can articulate their feelings. Alternitively, this could be used at the beginning of a unit to set the scene.
