Product Description
Studying World War 2 on the elementary level. This tri-fold is great to use when teaching World War II, America's Involvement in World War 2, or the novel The Boy Who Dared. This tri-fold has three levels and can be used for differentiation. This product can be used as whole group instruction, individual research based project, small group project, or as a homework project.

This product meets Georgia's Fifth Grade Social Studies GSE's for SS5H4: Explain America's involvement in World War II.
a. Describe German aggression in Europe and Japanese aggression in Asia.
b. Describe major events in the war in both Europe and the Pacific including Pearl Harbor, Iwo Jima, D-Day, VE and VJ Days, and the Holocaust.
c. Discuss President Truman's decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
d. Identify Roosevelt, Stalin, Churchill, Hirohito, Truman, Mussolini, and Hitler.
e. Describe the effects of rationing and the changing role of women and African Americans including "Rosie, the Riveter" and Tuskegee Airmen.
f. Explain the role of Eleanor Roosevelt and the U.S. in the formation of the United Nations.

This World War II tri-fold contains two versions:
One containing black and white photos of people and the other containing black line graphics. You choose which one is best for your students or mix and match.

These inserts can also be used in a Social Studies Notebook instead of using construction paper.

2 Maps (Axis and Allies, Germany's Aggressions in Europe)
10 Inserts (America's Involvement, Germany's Involvement, Axis Players, Allies Players, Significant Events, United Nations, Tuskegee Airmen, Rosie, the Riveter, Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and Alternate History)
3 Additional Activities (Holocaust Timeline, Rationing Propaganda Poster, Comparing Germany's Aggressions in Europe and Japan's Aggressions in the Pacific)
