This is a 15 slide, highly animated, power point presentations on World War I - French Army Mutinies. Each of the presentation slides are editable so you can change it to fit your individual needs.
The French Army Mutinies of 1917 took place amongst the French troops on the Western Front in Northern France. They started just after the disastrous Second Battle of the Aisne, the main action in the Nivelle Offensive in April 1917.
Nearly 1 million French soldiers out of a population of 20 million French males of all ages had been killed in fighting by early 1917. These losses had deadened the French will to attack. The infantry soldiers mutinied. There were 3,427 court-martialed, 2,878 sentences of hard labor, 629 death sentences, and 43 executions were carried out.
The presentation covers the following:
Collapse in Morale
Crises of Infantrymen
Arrests & Trials
End of Presentation
