This hurts my students' brain--which is a good thing!
Students are asked to compare things from WWI with seemingly unlike things, such as "How was Gallipoli like a candle?"
Great opening or closing activity.
I usually ask the students to pair up to complete this activity. If I use it as an opener, we then go through the responses together as a class. If it is a closer, I use the responses as my opener the next day.
