This student-centered project allows students to explore essential understandings and topics about World War I in a hands-on way. In this project, students work in groups to research specific topics about World War I in order to create a comprehensive World War I edition newspaper (using applications such as Google Docs, or Microsoft Word). This project encourages students to be creative as they may cover the topics in a variety of formats that you would find in a newspaper (i.e. articles, feature pieces, opinion pieces, political cartoons, cross-words, interviews, etc...).
Before beginning this project - students should be introduced and given an overview of World War I in a manner that best aligns with your teaching style and educational philosophy.
