Description

In this complete World War I unit guided notes and PowerPoint bundle, you receive a jam-packed 45-page PowerPoint presentation and 6 pages of guided notes for instruction on World War I, the theories of nationalism, militarism, the Web of Alliances, the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the progress of the war between the Allied Powers and Central Powers, the Paris Peace Conference, Treaty of Versailles, the Rise of the Nazi Party, and much, much more!

Students are instructed on the concept of nationalism, imperialism, and militarism and how they collided to create World War one. Then, students study the Web of Alliances and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand (heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne) to learn how a chain reaction of war was set off across Europe. From there, students learn about the July Crisis and Austro-Hungarian ultimatum, the Triple Entente and Triple Alliance, the Germany Schlieffen Plan to win the war, the First and Second Battles of the Marne, the use of Trench Warfare (as well as several new cutting-edge weapons like poison gases, armored tanks, airplanes, and submarines), the downfall of the Russia tsar with the Bolshevik Revolution (and rise of Vladimir Lenin), the US entry into the war with the sinking of Lusitania as well as the Zimmerman Telegram, the Paris Peace Conference, the Treaty of Versailles, Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points, and the impact the the treaty and war has on Germany (and how it creates a situation that allows the eventual rise of Adolf Hitler).
