Students review the events of WWI (WW1) by completing a timeline activity and answering 4 questions. There are 24 items to organize on the timeline. Students must also classify each item according to a system detailed in the instructions, they have one task to complete for 6 items, and another for 4 other items. There are arrows in the first two lines of the timeline showing students the direction to fill out the pieces in. This could work for a sub! Answers are included where appropriate. This will work for US History or World History.
Sample timeline items and questions include:
--Battle of the Somme
--Germany forced to accept War Guilt Clause
--Belgium’s neutrality is violated
--Which cause of World War 1 do you think was most responsible for war breaking out and why?
--Consider a scenario where the Central Powers won the war. What would that have meant for the wider world over the next few decades. Explain your thinking.
***a teacher's note is included in the file describing an alternate way students can complete this activity***
