High quality DBQ activity!
Objective: To investigate Japanese internment and its implications by analyzing primary source documents.
Students read and/or view primary source documents and answer questions to 1) Examine the US government's perspective on internment, 2) Examine a Japanese American perspective on internment, 3) Examine the constitutionality of internment.
Activity is easy-to-use and is great practice for students to methodically identify relevant evidence, sourcing information, point of view, and significance of historical documents. Worksheets include embedded scaffolds to reduce cognitive load on struggling students. I created this lesson while working on my credential and it earned me a perfect score on the PACT assessment for California teachers!
