This project has been a huge success with my students. It features items that evoke thought and creativity as well as have them perform tasks that land higher on Bloom's Taxonomy. These higher order thinking tasks ask the students to build a functional military budget, effectively placing them in command of the finances of our combat forces (prices are listed for ease and understanding). They are then asked to create a superhero and draw a comic strip (as part of our top secret "superhuman" division) effectively making them create an entity that will defeat Hitler, Mussolini or Hirohito. Then they are asked to create a new piece of weaponry or armor that will revolutionize the battlefield and give the U.S. an advantage to win the war; and use their writing skills to describe their piece of weaponry or armor and how it helped win the war. This, once again, works off their creativity skills and places them in the role of leadership. This project was a fun one, and my students helped me design this. I find the most fun and profitable projects are ones that student have a say in... you will not regret buying this inexpensive item.
