*****Depending on the version of the presentation software that you use to present in your classroom, fonts and sizes in our lecture presentations may need adjustment. , install the fonts onto your computer, and customize your lecture in the way that works of you. Adjust sizes, fonts, images, and content to meet your needs and the needs of your students!*******
2) A document-based activity that tests your students knowledge of what happened during the war in the Pacific. Topics range from the Doolittle Raids to the Battle of Okinawa. This will get your students minds ready for the next portion of the activity, analyzing first hand accounts from soldiers in the Pacific. Students will read these primary sources and answer questions that help them synthesize the information. Students will be able to step into the shoes of the people fighting in the war in order to see what life was like for them. This activity is different from many other activities because it takes into account the views of Japanese civilians and looks behind the curtain to examine the true feelings of the Kamikaze pilots. This is a great activity to help engage students in real life stories from the front.
This activity can be used in many different ways in the classroom. Students can work independently, in pairs or this activity can be used as a jigsaw in order to facilitate a class wide discussion about the topics discussed in the activity.
2) A detailed answer key to the lesson activity to save you time and help guide student comprehension.
