This is a unit bundle of thorough resources that follow five WWII historical fiction books. The books included are: "The Upstairs Room," "Number the Stars," "The Devil's Arithmetic," "Stepping on the Cracks," and "Dear America: My Secret War." This unit is the perfect way to integrate social studies into your literacy block, using reading, writing, and grammar. It is also extremely easy to differentiate with this unit, because the novels are a variety of Fountas and Pinnell levels, ranging from M to T. Furthermore, students can read more than one book to get multiple perspectives on the war. There are two novels set in war-ridden Europe, one in a concentration camp, and two set in America during the war.
