Do you sometimes think grading verbal assessments is worse than having to take one? Developing a good rubric can be a hassle, and having to make a new one for each verbal assessment is a pain!
This is a rubric designed for use with any world language at any level (great for those of us who teach multiple languages/levels!). It focuses more on a holistic approach to evaluating verbal ability (comprehensibility, pronunciation, etc.), but includes room for evaluating grammar/syntax structures and vocabulary as well. I find this rubric particularly useful, because it is flexible enough to move across proficiency levels and can be used with any topic! Being able to use the same rubric throughout the school year, and from year to year provides a lot of consistency!
The rubric assess comprehensibility, vocabulary, fluency, task completion, language control, and pronunciation.
This rubric is out of 50 points, but can easily be adjusted to any point value. It's in word document format for easy editing!
