Beginning in the 1950s, American and Soviet scientists engaged in a dangerous race to see who could build and detonate the world's largest bomb. This video traces the history of the development of the world's biggest bomb (Tsar Bomb). This video will be a great way to introduce the arm's race and the Cold War.
I have also included a PowerPoint presentation which compares visuals of all the major nuclear and thermonuclear explosions. Lastly, I have included a link to a Nuke Map which will allow students to see what a nuclear explosion would look like in their city and state.
