"Use your windshield to protect from worries:)"
Keeping an invisible unbreakable windshield around your mind helps protect from worry thoughts and avoidance. The "Worry Windshields" activity uses thought stopping boundaries and affirmations to combat negative thinking and encourage focus on helpful thoughts that improve mood and motivation.
The "Worry Windshield" activities are helpful tools to be used with students struggling with anxiety. Whether the worry be a transition, a test, social problems, or other personal worries, the coping messages are meant to be lessons and reminders of one’s strength and resilience during times of worry.
When engaging in the activity, students will identify "windowless worry cards," share how they relate, and then replace the windowless worry cards with an unbreakable coping "windshield" card. This is great practice for real life, especially when used in role plays. For extra fun, the "worry windshield" cards may also be used with charades, go fish, and as drawing and writing prompts.
Product includes 27 common worries, 54 affirmation coping statements in five different colors for multiple players, including a color friendly black and white version, and blank worry windshields for personalization.
Images to glue on a tissue box (to place worry cards inside), punch cards for positive reinforcement, and reward cards for using windshields to protect oneself from the worries also included.
