This Reader's Theater is for three students. The focus is on the words on the Zeno list - that is, the 107 most used sight words. There are other words in the script but they are words used for 1st through 2nd grade. On the first page is a list of the words used that are not on the Zeno word list. In the script, Kid #1 asks two friends if they would like to see their dog. The friends offer to help look for the dog but want to know if it is big or small and what color it is. Kid #1 keeps saying the word WILL and soon their friends realize that the kid does not have a dog yet but is planning to get one. I use reader's theaters to encourage my students to practice fluency. It is a fun way to do something that they need. The lower a student's level, the harder it is to motivate them to practice which is why I have written these lower level scripts. Most of my scripts are in black and white so they photo copy easily. The problem with many other reader's theaters is that students spend a lot of time waiting for their part. When you have a small group they get more practice in and less off task behaviors take place. My name is Melanie Whitesides but my store name is Wonbyone. If you would like more of these scripts please visit my store! I hope that your students enjoy this script as much as mine did. Let me know how things go!
